DANVILLE - Counting marbles has never been as much fun as it is for students in Danville High School's innovative and exciting Principles of Engineering class. Shelly Barker and GK-12 Fellow Suzannah Sandrik lead this class to create a truly unique and rewarding experience with educational projects revolving around marble sorters (seen above), mousetrap cars, and architectural design.
The evening of February 28 brought teachers, GK12 fellows, and professional engineers together for an evening of support and advice for Mrs. Barker's students, who displayed their Marble Sorter projects for all to admire. Combining hands-on construction with computer-based control software, the Marble Sorter project gives students a genuine engineering experience.
